CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) PNC approved program

INTRODUCTION

Health care profession is changing with each passing day. COVID-19 has transformed the educational and professional training and education globally. The pandemic increased the burden of complex health care needs of patients on health care industry and its workers. Pakistan already is facing the severe shortage of qualified nursing staff. The College of Nursing at Ziauddin took an initiative and with collaboration of Ziauddin Board of Education which is offering F.Sc Nursing (HSSC) restarted the program of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) as we feel that our healthcare system needs more nurses in this profession. Dr. Ziauddin University Examination Board is offering Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) which was successfully producing qualified staff as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) earlier.

This program is aims to produce nursing assistant, who contribute their role along with Registered Nurses. The significance of this program is that the students will earn F.Sc Nursing (Pre Nursing Certificate of HSSC intermediate level) on completion of CNA.  This program will directly assist in overcoming shortage of nurses, while preparing qualified staff professionally soon after completing their Matriculation. In addition, the CNAs would start their career pathway having a chance to further study as a Registered Nurse later en route to PhD, under the one umbrella of ZCON.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Duration:  2 Years

Gender:     Male/Female

Age:           14 – 35 years

Qualification:  Applicant must meet one of the following Academic Level:

  1. FSc (Pre-Medical) with 45% marks minimum (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects)
  2. Matric (Science) with 45 % marks minimum (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects)
  3. Matric (Arts) with 50% marks, FA with 50% Marks
