DAY 4: HEALTH AND FUN MELA

On 4th day of EC WEEK 2019, a Health and Fun Mela was organized by the students of MSN-I, BSN-I and BSN-II. This Health and Fun Mela was organized to educate the students about various health issues and how to overcome these issues. There were some health assessment setups and also stalls regarding nutrition. The Chief Guests who attended this Health and Fun Mela were Dr Inayat Ali Khan (Expert from Neurosurgery department) and Dr Tazeen Saeed from Aga Khan University Hospital (Assistant Dean, Research and Assistant Proffesor AKUSON). Dr Tazeen Saeed highly appreciated the efforts of MSN and BSN students for accomplishment of the assigned tasks related to Health Fair. She emphasized on the fact that Health fairs serve many purposes. The most important purpose is found within Healthcare’s mission statement — helping people live the healthiest lives possible. The central purpose of a community health fair is to help individuals be healthier by seeking to engage the public in conversation about common health issues and concerns. The fair was a grand success as it provides basic health screenings for little or no cost. Simple health screenings such as blood pressure checks, glucose and cholesterol blood tests, body composition, vision and hearing tests, offer both positive health feedback and identify at risk individuals.
